Lori Baker Lloyd named executive director for University Organizational and Professional Development
Lori Baker-Lloyd has been named the executive director for University Organizational and Professional Development at Virginia Tech.
As the executive director, Lori Baker-Lloyd will oversee the development and delivery of the professional development programs and consulting services offered to all Virginia Tech employees.
The professional development programs include numerous workshops throughout the year, as well as several cohort programs, including the Management Academy and the Executive Development Institute.
"I am excited to be joining a dynamic team of [human resources] professionals operating together to help make Virginia Tech the best place to work," said Baker-Lloyd. "The University Organizational and Professional Development team in particular plays a key role in inventing the future by working internally to develop professional and organizational effectiveness. We help individuals and teams develop and model skills which Virginia Tech students ultimately emulate as they become leaders in their own right."
A native of Roanoke, Va., Baker-Lloyd most recently worked in Bermuda as the vice president for Global HR Programs at Bank of N.T. Butterfield. Prior to Butterfield she worked as the assistant vice president and director of human resources at the Centre Group of Companies in Bermuda.
Before going overseas, she held leadership positions with AMC Inc. in Atlanta and MTV Networks in New York.
Baker-Lloyd has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Howard University and holds several certifications by national training organizations including the Executive Coaching Certification from the Lore International Institute, and Certified Branded Service Consultant by TMI Inc. She has also earned the SPHR (senior professional of human resources) designation by the Society of Human Resources Management.
