The College of Science at Virginia Tech will hold its inaugural Science, Technology and Law Program Symposium Oct. 11 featuring noted European intellectual property law professor Christoph Ann.

Ann is the chair for Corporate and IP Law at Technische Universitat Munchen, School of Management – Germany’s No. 1 research business school. He holds law degrees in Germany and the United States and has served as a judge on the Mannheim Regional Court’s IP Infringement Panel. He has published five books and more than 100 articles and contributions to books.

The symposium will be held in the Cascades Room at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Ann’s presentation will run from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by discussion and a reception.

The registration deadline is Oct. 3 and the program is free of charge.

The Science, Technology, and Law program is a new minor in the college and is open to students from any major. The first six students to receive the minor graduated in the Spring of 2013.
