Virginia Tech geosciences professor Robert Tracy will present a free public program about volcanoes on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

“What’s Up with Volcanoes: The Secret Lives of Dangerous Mountains” will explore various types of volcanoes, the rocks they generate, some famous volcanic disasters, and ancient volcanoes in Virginia. The program will be held at the Virginia Tech Museum of Geosciences in the College of Science, 2062 Derring Hall. Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in the Perry Street faculty/staff lot.
