Kimberly P. Blair, of Salem, Va., has been named director of development for the College of Architecture and Urban Studies.

Blair comes to Virginia Tech from Roanoke College, where she was employed for 15 years, most recently as the director of development. Her previous titles at Roanoke College include development representative, director of annual giving and director of alumni, and parent relations and annual programs.

Blair worked closely with volunteers on the Roanoke College President’s Advisory Board and Parent Associate Leaders Committee. She also advised the Panhellenic Council, senior class, Rotaract Club, and Phi Mu Sorority, and she served on the strategic planning task force for two of the college’s presidents.

A native of Blacksburg, Blair received a bachelor’s degree in 1993 from Roanoke College. In both 1995 and 1997, she was named Outstanding Advisor for her work with the senior class, and in 2005, was honored with the Roanoke College Innovation Award.

In her new role, Blair will serve as the chief major-gift officer for the college. She will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies comprehensive development program and overall fundraising efforts from all private sources in support of current operations, endowment, capital, and other purposes. She will fulfill these duties under the direction of the Office of University Development and in close cooperation with Dean Jack Davis.
