The Virginia Tech Department of Fisheries and Wildlife and the Virginia Tech Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (AFS) will host the 23rd Annual Mudbass Classic Tournament on Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The tournament is open to all ages and the cost is free. Complimentary gift bags and refreshments will be provided. Prizes will also be awarded in categories such as largest fish and most fish caught.

The Mudbass Classic offers its participants a day of fun-filled fishing while promoting stewardship of rivers, streams, and native fish. “We especially hope to foster a lasting appreciation of nature within the children of the community,” stated Virginia Tech AFS student chapter president Brad Ray.
