The Graduate Life Center at Donaldson Brown will host several open house events to coincide with Virginia Tech’s Graduate Alumni Homecoming.

An official ribbon cutting ceremony and reception to mark the opening of the new center will be held Thursday, Sept. 15 at 1:30 p.m. in the main lobby. The reception will honor the many administrators and employees who have contributed to the transformation from a hotel into a graduate student center and residence hall.

Activities continue on Friday, Sept. 16 with a more traditional “open house” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring refreshments and door prizes. Au Bon Pain will celebrate their opening in the Graduate Life Center with free samples. A timeline of events leading to the development of the Graduate Life Center will be on display along with information about graduate education and university colleges. Representatives from the Graduate School, Student Programs, and University Unions and Student Activities will be on hand to answer questions about the unique collaboration.

Graduate alumni will gather at the facility to celebrate Graduate Alumni Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 17 with a pre-game brunch, live jazz, and an opportunity to visit with friends.
