Center for Forest Products Marketing and Management presents marketing workshop
In efforts to keep the state and America globally competitive, Virginia Tech’ Center for Forest Products and Marketing Management will offer its 12th annual workshop on forest products marketing.
The workshop has two modules: Module 1 will be held on Thursday, October 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Module 2 will be held on Friday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will be held on the Virginia Tech campus.
Participants should be new sales and marketing personnel, employees unfamiliar with the forest products industry, others interested in the basics of marketing and personal selling, and economic development personnel and others wanting to know more about the forest products industry and marketing.
Module 1 will discuss the basics of forest products and marketing. Module 2 will cover personal selling, market research methods, and trends in the industry.
Along with the Virginia Tech’s Center for Forest Products Marketing and Management, sponsors for the short course include the Sloan Forest Industries Center, Virginia Forest Products Association, Hardwood Manufacturers Association, and Virginia Tech’s Continuing and Professional Education.
The instructors for the workshop are Bob Smith, professor and extension specialist in forest products marketing; Robert Bush, professor in forest products marketing; and Tom Hammett, professor in forest products marketing.
