Pamplin College dean presentation at international education conference

Richard E. Sorensen of Blacksburg, Va., dean of Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business, gave a presentation at a conference on international education organized by the Washington International Education Council on Jan. 21. The council seeks to promote international education programs and provides advisory and placement services to foreign students wishing to study in U.S. colleges and universities.

Sorensen discussed the international activities of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-International (AACSB), the primary accrediting body for U.S. business schools. He chairs the AACSB's accreditation quality committee and has been named vice chair-chair elect of the AACSB board of directors, effective this July.

Virginia Tech's nationally ranked Pamplin College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs in accounting and information systems, business information technology, economics, finance, hospitality and tourism management, management, and marketing. The college emphasizes the development of leadership skills and ethical values and the integration of technology in the academic curriculum, and prepares students for global business challenges through faculty-led study abroad programs.
